Page on “proactivity”?  Being proactive is the Rider “trying to take control” (if the Elephant is “amenable” – ie, trained [?])
 
“Mindfulness” usage has become ubiquitous; one “sees or hears it” in common usage as in the media, everyday conversation, and of course in (learning) meditation practices and therapies like CBT (and specifically MBCT), DBT, ACT, and many other (let’s call them) “contexts” – the common overlap being, arguably , Jon Kabat-Zinn’s succinct “paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.

Mindfulness is your Rider in a proactive mental state of self-directed focused awareness on what is happening in the present moment [i.e., the sensations you’re sensing, the emotions your feeling, the thoughts your having, and the behaviors your engaging] in such a way as to constructively respond to the reactions being experienced.
